In Åman there are mainly grayling and trout, with the same catching methods as in the Vindelälven. Trout and char have been planted in several of the lakes and ponds.
Åman/Åmsele FFF is approx. 65 km long, and located in the northern part of Vindeln municipality. Parts of the area also extend into Norsjö and Lycksele municipalities. The area is dominated by a lake system that is the remains of an ancient glacial river.
Åman is the waterway that connects these lakes.
Fishing:
The area offers a very varied fishing. In addition to good stocks of perch, pike, whitefish, etc., there have been stockings of mainly trout and char in many of the system's lakes for a long time.
In the system's streams, especially Manjaurån and Åman upstream of Ajaursjön, there are fine stocks of trout and grayling.
These streams are located in fantastic surroundings and are excellent for fly fishing.

Within Åman/Åmsele FFF, active fisheries conservation work is carried out, for example during a number of years sea trout roe has been released in parts of Åman's tributaries and in Åman itself. Biotope conservation and inventory and follow-up of the fish stocks are other efforts that take place continuously.
