Bergvattensjön is beautifully situated in the middle of Dorotea community in direct connection to Europaväg 45.
The lake has natural stocks of perch, pike and whitefish, but to spice up the fishing, the municipality releases rainbow trout and char three to four times a year.
The service around the lake is good with wind protection, barbecue areas and 12 piers.
When it comes to the fishing itself, summer is the time when most people go to the lake to fish. Perhaps the best fishing period occurs some week before and some week after midsummer when the Rock (sea sand dragonfly) hatches. The dragonfly hatches in large numbers and attracts the lake's precious fish to a real vigil party.
However, winter fishing should not be forgotten, especially in the latter part of spring, when the sun begins to warm and the activity of the fish increases.
Björnrycket, which is a popular pimple competition, is held on the lake every spring winter around week 10.
Dorotea municipality is the southernmost of the inland municipalities in Västerbotten County and the gateway to Lapland. There E45 and Highway 92 meet, the main town Dorotea.
