Handsjön is a lake in Berg municipality in Jämtland and is part of Ljungans main catchment area.
The lake has an average depth of 8 meters, has an area of 5 hectares and is located 287 meters above sea level. The lake is drained by Ljungan. Handsjön has many islands, islets, bays where mainly pike thrive, there are also plenty of perch in the lake. In the old riverbed it is about 10-15 meters deep. Johan Broman thinks that large parts of Handsjön are reminiscent of the Stockholm archipelago. In Handsjön, in addition to the above-mentioned fish species, there are also trout and ide. The nature around the lake is forest landscape.
The area also includes smaller lakes, ponds and streams. Losjön, Trollsjön, larger parts of Örasjön and Trollsjötjärn, parts of Långvattnet, Övre and Nedre Galvattnet as well as a number of ponds, lakes and streams.
Long iron is the area's stocking water (put & take) for trout, char and rainbow trout.
We arrange two C&R competitions per year, Pike Drag (always the weekend of the 28th) and Autumn Pike (always the last Saturday in September) and we have a children's pimple competition which is always on Good Friday. In 2020, we are making Långtjärn accessible, so anyone with difficulties getting out to fish now has opportunities that have not been available with us otherwise.
Join us in our effort for fun and sustainable fishing for everyone.
