Västmanland is located in the inland of Svealand and borders Södermanland, Värmland, Dalarna, Gästrikland and Uppland.
The county is varied in nature. In the southeastern parts you find very fertile plains, while in the northwestern parts you find a landscape that rises and thus mostly abandons the agricultural landscape to a more hilly terrain filled with heights, forests and lots of lakes.
Fish to catch in Västmanland include perch, pike, pike, salmon, sea trout, grayling and trout.
The fishing is incredibly varied and thanks to the large number of water you can choose and toss between different fishing methods and species. In addition to large waters such as Lake Mälaren and Hjälmaren, the Dalälven River also flows through the county.
