Storsandsjön's FVO is a fisheries conservation area that consists of four lakes; Kamsjöbäcken, Mjösjön, Ristjärnen and Storsandsjön .
Kamsjöbäcken
Fish stocks consist mostly of perch, pike and roach.
Mjösjön
Here, the fish stock is dominated by perch, pike, roach and tench. Whitefish and trout are found in single specimens.
The grating iron
Put and take. Fishing for rainbow trout. In addition to these species, there are perch. There is room to set up caravans by the lake. Wind shelters, barbecue areas and a dock suitable for the disabled are available at the pond. The fishing premiere is usually held in mid-June.
Storsandsjön
The dominant fish species are perch, pike, whitefish, roach and tench. Trout have been released in several rounds and several over 5 kg have been caught from the lake. The whitefish is nice and coarse perch of over a kilo is not uncommon. Because the lake is so large, a boat is necessary when fishing. These can be rented or borrowed in the village of Storsandsjön.
Storsandsjön's fisheries management area is centrally located in the municipality, approx. 15 km north of Vindeln's urban area.
Storsandsjön is best known for its fine trout, where trolling for these has yielded catches of over 6 kg. In addition to Storsandsjön and Mjösjön , which dominate the area, there are a number of lakes, of which Ristjärn with "put and take" fishing for rainbows is the most important.
No stocking of noble fish in Ristjärn this year, therefore fishing in Ristjärn is included in the regular 24-hour/annual card
Parts of the lake are now depth plumbed via genesismaps, follow the link here.
