The sport fishermen offer fishing close to urban areas in a fantastic environment.
The Nyköpingsån winds its way through the old city centre and offers attractive fishing in an urban environment in approximately 6 km of water. Here there is the opportunity for fly fishing for sea trout and salmon as well as feeder fishing for, among others, roach, bream, ide and roach as well as spin fishing for pike, zander and perch. The Nyköpingsån offers the opportunity to fish for a variety of species, which makes fishing attractive throughout the year.
Many people visit the river to fish for trout and salmon during the first months of the year and during late summer/autumn. During spring and summer, fantastic fishing is offered for both pike-perch and perch as well as roach, ide and roach. In 2020, the first salmon release was made and since 2022, salmon weighing over 10 kg have been caught. The annual releases will continue in parallel with the long-standing release of trout. When fishing in the river, there are always opportunities for food and accommodation within walking distance. We at Sportfiskarna work for sustainable fishing in our waters through fishing supervision, information signs and collaboration with the municipality and other local actors.
- During the year 2024, 247 sea trout and 61 salmon were reported caught.
