Övre Ammeråns FVOF

Övre Ammeråns FVO is an undeveloped pearl in the inland of Norrland, offering everything that both spin anglers and fly fishermen can wish for. The streams of the river are well known among fly fishermen for their excellent grayling and trout fishing, but in recent years the excellent pike fishing also attracts visitors from all over the Nordic region.

Upper Ammerån fishing area extends from the beautiful village of Skyttmon and about 15 kilometers downstream. There is great variation on the water, with both large seals and stray currents, where the wild Borgforsen are among the favorites for fly fishermen. Anyone who travels by boat and fishes perch in the bays will not be disappointed, neither on the environment nor on the fish supply. As mentioned, the area has become known for its predator fishing in recent times, where, for example, Östra and Västra Rönningssjön have delivered both 2-kilo perch and 10-kilo pike.

Another excellent all-round water is Öravattnet, where there are both trout, char and perch, as well as boats for hire. In short, Upper Ammerån FVO has more fishing spots than there are fishermen, both lakes and streams, and enough fish for both the camera and the frying pan.

A natural starting point is Skyttmon, where there is information and other services, or at the boat rental in Öravattnet. The area is signposted and has a road to rapids and lakes. Wind protection available.

Directions: Road 87 from Hammarstrand to Ammer, then road 344 to Skyttmon. From Östersund road 45, take-off road before Hammerdal to road 344 towards Skyttmon.
