The fisheries management area stretches from Lia to the mouth of the Ätran and fishing is possible in three different stretches: Nydala area: Only fly fishing is permitted downstream of Nydala mill. Spinning and angling are prohibited on this stretch. All fishing methods are permitted upstream of Nydala mill. All fishing is prohibited on the pier after 1/8. See demarcation on map. Area Kogstorp: Fishing is permitted between the power line 500 m upstream of the wooden bridge to 100 m north of the stone bridge at Boarp. Short fishing allowed only on the west side of the river. See demarcation on map. Area Ullared: Fishing is permitted between the road bridge in Ullared (road 154) and up to where the forest begins south of Barkhult. See demarcation on map.

From June 17 and the remainder of the 2024 season, all salmon over 75 cm must be re-released. Quota for harvested (killed) salmon is 1 per fisherman per day. It is allowed to fish until the quota is reached.
The rule is introduced to protect larger spawning fish.
The previously enhanced protective measure on mandatory reinstatement ends at the same time. We urge fishermen to pay attention to high water temperatures (above 20 degrees), when you should consider completely refraining from fishing.
