Såken is located in the northern part of Svenljunga municipality, in the middle of the scenic Sjuhäradsbygden.
The lake is approx: 450 ha in size and has a very large variety with islands, deep cliffs, shallow and partly very rocky bottom, greatest depth is 28 m.
The case is part of Ätran 's catchment area and is included in Project Ätranöring, which aims to increase the stock of Ätranöring in the area. For several years, pikeperch fry have been released annually to increase the stock, the pikeperch grow well due to the large amount of small whitefish that are in the lake. Eels are also exposed regularly. In addition to zander, there are pike, perch, whitefish, lake, eel and whitefish.
In addition to exciting fishing in a challenging lake, Såken offers an extraordinary nature experience with forests, rocky beaches and vertical rock walls, but also swimming beaches for those who don't fish. There is also the possibility of setting up a caravan or mobile home near the water.

Såkens Sjösystem's FVO was formed in 1989 after having existed for many years as an organization under the name Såkens Fiskevårdsförening. When the area was formed, the lakes Mellsjön , Frammesjön and Yttersjön were added.
The fishing license revenue goes solely to fisheries conservation measures.
