In western Härjedalen near the Norwegian border lies the fishing area of Tännäs-Funäsdalen. There are hundreds of lakes and streams here, as well as a very barren nature with rock blocks, pine forests and dry shrubs.
The mountain world around Tännäs offers fish-rich lakes and flowing water. When mountains meet forests, this means that the species composition differs between almost every fishing lake. There are both typical mountain species such as trout, char and grayling as well as perch, whitefish and pike. The most distinctive feature of the area is Härjedalen's landscape fishing, the large-grown sea urchin.
Largest is Lake Rogen, which also named the Rogens Nature Reserve, a fabulous mountain area with plenty of water for fishing and canoeing. ( Note that Lake Rogen itself is not included in the fishing license, which is sold via the Tännäs Fishing Center ). In the Rogen area, three of Sweden's largest rivers also run; Klarälven-Göta river , Dalälven and Ljusnan .
Tännäs - Funäsdalen's Fisheries Conservation Area Association consists of approx. 400 fishing right holders and comprises approx. 70 leased waters, lakes, ponds and flowing water in a magnificent mountain nature. At Tännäs Fiskecentrum there is a fishing shop with most things that may be needed for a fishing trip. There are also guided fishing trips and courses, as well as rental of boats and electric motors.
