Are sjö

Are sjö is a rocky lake with quite dark water. Mostly forest around and Norra Åreda By to the west. The water flows from Feresjön and the forest ditch and then flows out into Areström and on to Innaren. The bottom is mostly rocky with some coves with dy and reeds.

Here you mainly catch pike and perch, but there are also roach and bream. Maybe you'll find the pikeperch that no one has seen since it was planted... The lake is approximately 170 ha in surface area with a maximum depth of 6m, average depth 2.5m and visibility depth about 2m.

Free fishing for children and adolescents up to the age of 16.
Elementary school children fish for free with a rod and reel throughout the lake.

Are sjö- Feresjöns FVOF

The association was formed in its current form in 1988, but has been active since the 1950s. The association manages the fisheries in the Are sjö-Feresjön fisheries management area, Växjö municipality. The area covers the waters from Feresjön to the outlet into Lake Innaren. The purpose is to coordinate the operation of fisheries and fisheries management and to promote the common interests of fishing right holders.
