Götarpssjön is a lake in Nissan's catchment area of approximately 54 hectares. The lake is regulated with low impact of human activity. The lake is surrounded mainly by woodland, but a number of residents live around the lake and a smaller summer area. In the past there was a well plant which is now being laid down.
At the eastern beach there is a municipal swimming area which is relatively strong frequented in the summers. The lake has a strong stock of pike, perch and roar. The stock of eel has decreased but is sporadic. The lake is best known for a good pike stock and rough perch.
The fishery area association has since 1978 been fishing in the lake.
The association was formed in 1933, but was transformed into FVOF in 1978. The fish in the lake works mainly as a source of recreation. The association mainly focuses on providing fishing for the public, controlling water quality and fish fauna. The quality of the water is continuously monitored by the authorities.
