In the municipality of Falkenberg in Halland there are many fishing opportunities in both the sea, rivers and lakes. Through the municipality, Ätran is a classic salmon water, but there is more than just salmon in the municipality. The places to fish on are many and beautiful and if it doesn't suck you will still be a wonderful nature experience richer.
Falkenberg salmon fishing offers an exciting wild salmon and trout fishing. Through nature conservation efforts, the salmon in Ätran has been preserved and is today by far the strongest stock of Atlantic wild salmon in Sweden.
Ätran is classic salmon water and in Vessigebro there are nice fishing opportunities. Ätrans Nedre fiskevårdsområde extends from the bridge in Vessigebro to the bridge over the old E6 in Falkenberg, about 150 m upstream of the Herting power station.
Högvadsån flows into Ätran in Ätrafors and is Ätrans's largest tributary. Ätran and Högvadsån have an original salmon strain and are together the most important reproduction area for salmon on the west coast. The most important play bottoms are in Högvadsån. There is also a very fine plant and animal life here.
