Lina river, flows through Gällivare municipality, merges with Ängesån at Linafallet and on to Kalix river.
Dokka's community offers fishing along an approx. 20 km continuous stretch on the S side of the river, as well as tributaries. If the fishing luck is with you, you will catch grayling, trout or salmon. (perhaps pike)
The easiest way to get here is along road 394, about 35 km southeast of Gällivare. At the bridge anchorage on the N side of the river, there is a well-sized rest area that can accommodate a number of caravans. The fishing at the bridge is excellent, but if you want to explore the rapids downstream, drive through the village of Dokka, turn down towards the river on one of the logging roads. Upstream from the village of Mettä-Dokkas, a forest road winds that touches the river in a couple of places. (signposted).
In 2018-2019, fisheries conservation measures were completed, upgrading and refurbishing the salmon ladder at the line fall, restoration of spawning beds with the help of an excavator. In 2020, the salmon migration doubled compared to previous years.
You are welcome to test your fishing luck.
