The association has been formed through a merger of Malmberget's and Koskullskulle's hunting and fishing associations.
The association was founded in 1935.
The association's task is to organize people with an interest in hunting and fishing as well as in wildlife, nature and environmental protection.
The association is politically neutral.
It must work to ensure that suitable land and water areas are available to the members.
MKJF's operations today are a mixture of old and new, a balancing act between gradually introducing a use based on ecological conditions of some of our leased waters, while maintaining the fishing itself in other waters to give an outlet for the fishing interest and relieve the natural waters.
