Nedre Långan is a typical wilderness water with varying rapids and calmer sections - about 30 km of fishing experiences to discover down to the outlet of the Indalsälven. The area is classified as valuable of national interest.
In the forests around Långan there is one of the world's densest trap pit systems. The valley has been inhabited by hunters and fishermen since the Stone Age, as evidenced by remains in the area. Today, there are almost no buildings along the roughly 30 km long stretch of river.
The river is relatively shallow and flows over limestone-rich areas, which makes it a very productive watercourse with great biological diversity. The river offers opportunities for varied fishing - Långan has a varied character with different strong currents and seals. There are natural opportunities for fly fishing here.
Långan is a primary tributary to the Indalsälven with its sources in the western Jämtlandsfjällen.
