We manage a lake system that is largely a nature reserve. Ånge FVO includes Grästjärn, Näbbtjärn, Djuptjärn, Kniptjärn, Rången, Svarttjärn, Malmyrtjärn, Abborrtjärn, Flistersjön and Vattensjön.
The nature reserve is a so-called. dead ice area with dramatic nature large-block terrain and difficult to access outside the path systems. It houses one of Sweden's better stocks of freshwater pearl mussels and therefore it is important to have a viable trout stock. The area was rotenone-treated starting in 1984 and pike and whitefish were removed, trout were reintroduced at the same time as char was planted in some of the waters, both of which are now self-reproducing stocks.
It is a popular area for winter fishing. In summer there are boats for rent in Rången and Vattensjön.
Cottages for overnight stays are available in several places as well as windbreaks.
Ånge FVOF is an association where we manage an area that is partly a nature reserve.
The association was formed as early as the 1950s and the purpose of the association is to create good conditions for a viable fish stock.
