Sandhemssjön- ca 84 ha and with about 8 km long beaches is located on the southwestern edge of Hökensås. It is reminiscent of Bergslagens lakes with coniferous, fairly steep beaches and a narrow reed belt. The water is dark and has good access to pike and perch. Fishing is best done by boat but also goes from the beach.
The lake with its surroundings is worth a visit. You can swim in several places and the old coarse pine forest on the strange ridges reminds of John Bauer's troll forest. Despite its easy accessibility, the beaches are almost completely free of settlement.
Signal crayons are in the lake but these are not included in the fishing license.
The association's purpose is to work for sustainable, good and practical fishing for both water owners and the public. A special goal is to increase the interest in fishing for the children and young people of the area. We do this, for example, by annually organizing ice fishing as a sports holiday activity.
