Welcome to Storsjöns FVO and SFK Pelikanen!

We are staying at Storsjön, which is about 1 mile south of Borås and offers a fantastic wilderness feeling.
There you can fish in our 19 lakes and Bål river. You can also hike the trail around Storsjön. Discover the beautiful nature and see traces of the old cultural landscape.

Storsjön is a created lake. In order to better manage the water supply, Rydboholmsbolaget AB decided to build a water reservoir in 1905. Work on blasting a tunnel was finished in 1909 and Storsjön was full of water on January 20, 1910. By then the level had been raised by 10 meters.
An entire landscape of farms and agriculture now lay below the surface and has given its name to several bays. Storsjön is about 150 ha and contains more than 8 million m3 of water. Has an average depth of approx. 5.8m and the deepest is 22.5m.
Due to the regulation in the lake, there is not much beach vegetation. In the lake there are perch, bream, pike, zander, roach and eel. Gosen is protected from 1/5 to 15/6 min. measurements are 45 cm.
Bird life is also part of Storsjön. Great loons, great grebes, grebes, woodcocks and woodcocks breed there every year and sometimes we also have a couple of ospreys.

The area also includes Abborratjärn, Abborrasjön, Björsjön, Bål ån, Duvesjön, Furesjön, Galtatjärn, Gäddesjö, Kroksjön, Lilla Älsjön, Lomsjö, Madtjärn, Orrleketjärn, Rönnesjö, Skallasjön, Skallatjärn, Stora Älsjön, Storsjön, Vänesjön and Ängsjön.
