The lake is shallow, which means it is overgrown during July and August. It is possible to angling and fishing with surface baits, but not normal spinning fishing.

Svaneholms castle cooperative owns Svaneholm's castle and the adjacent Svaneholmssjön lake.
The purpose of the association is to preserve the castle, nature and the lake so that the public can enjoy the unique whole that Svaneholm offers.
