The Swan Lakes FVO, located in the scenic southwest of Värmland, includes the lakes Ämmeskogsjön, Västersvan, Mellansvan, Östersvan, Eldan and Lågen. The lake system is part of the Little River water system, a water system that starts in the Glaskogen nature reserve and winds its way through the lakes within our fisheries management area to finally flow into Byälven.
The lakes have plenty of fish, especially the Östersvan, where you can find almost all kinds of whitefish (roach, roach, aspen, birch, etc.) and the pike are also numerous, large and willing to bite! There are also large pike in the other lakes. The record, as far as we know, is a pike of 16kg taken in Mellansvan. Even the perches can get big, the biggest one we know of weighed just over 3kg.
The Swan Lakes FVO was formed in 1991 following the initiative of a number of fishing rights owners who felt that fishing within Svanskog and Långserud's parishes needed help to develop and improve.
The fisheries management area has around 400 members.
