Tisnaren is a clear water lake that houses good stocks of perch, pike and pikeperch. Many farms take their water directly from the lake - so clean is Tisnaren.
The opportunity to catch a trophy fish is good - perch one kilo, pike one meter and pikeperch five kilos. In the last two years, pikeperch weighing eight and ten kilos have been caught. The lake is practically unexplored in terms of angling for bream and tench, etc. - a place for those interested to catch up! Eels up to 2.5 kilos have been caught. The perch is mostly found in the deep parts of the lake - down to 22 meters - and has increased in number. The vertical fishing for pelagic pikeperch has started to start little by little. Otherwise, it is mostly trolling that applies to pikeperch hunting.
At least three fishing competitions are held every year in Tisnaren - visit our website Tisnarens Västra Fiskevårdsområde for more info, for the curious there is a lot to read on the website.
Natural ramp is available in Skedevi for those who want to bring their own boat.
Tisnar's Western Fisheries Conservation Area Association was formed in 1989.
Tisnaren covers 3763 ha (37 km2) and the fisheries conservation area covers the western parts of the lake of approximately 1800 ha. The lake has kept moths, but the last one is said to have been caught in the 1930s.
In recent years, the association has planted eels for SEK 150,000.
