Västra Silens Norra & Södra FVOF

Västra Silen is a well-known sport fishing lake and one of the largest lakes in the Dalsland Canal's maritime system.

It is located between the lakes Lelång and Östra Silen in northwestern Dalsland and southeastern Värmland. You can go by boat to Västra Silen from Lelång or Östra Silen or launch a trailer boat at any of the boat's many boat ramps. A very exciting lake for the angler!

Västra Silen is a clearwater lake that has both deep areas as well as some coves and larger founders remote. Large parts of the lake's beaches consist of cliffs and mountains. In the middle of the lake you have almost an archipelago feeling. Here is the number of islands abundant, but also islands and cuts, especially in the area around Gustavsfors, as well as the northern part of the lake closest to Årjäng. The surface of the lake is distributed to approximately half each in Värmland and Dalsland. The small buildings around the lake along with wooded and rocky beaches give a unique wilderness feeling. West Silen is the widest in the middle of the lake. Here are also the deepest areas in the lake.

The lake has a good stock of mainly perch and pike. The chance to get salmon and trout is also good if you target your fishing thereafter. Västra Silen is a lake where everyone can find their own favorite spot depending on which fish you prefer.
