Vegeå offers a nice spring fishing after sea trout. From 1st March (premiere) until April to May, fishing is usually the best. At the same time, the autumn fish can also produce good results. During the spring, many so-called "besor" fish are caught, it is very important that you handle these fish as carefully as possible. Avoid using hooks with coarse meshes and knots. Instead, use a knotless hole, or better still, hook the fish when it is still in the water.

In addition to sea trout, there are pike, perch, id, roach, brax, lion and eel. Fishing for eels is prohibited for an indefinite period, when the species is threatened by extinction. The puppies are relatively few but the chance is to fool a decent piece. Several pike over 10 kilos have been caught in the river! For the meter there is an interesting stock of id and braxen. Those who are prepared to spend some time in the river have the chance of really nice catches.
