Alfta FVOF manages 104 lakes larger than 1 ha, 17 lakes between 100-1500 ha and a large number of flowing waters of varying sizes. The largest of these watercourses is the Voxnan . Perhaps the most famous, for fishermen, is probably the mythical "Svartån" - Flaxnan , which the fisherman and author Hans Lidman wrote so captivatingly about in several of his books. The upper part of the river is now leased out to Woxnadalen's Fly Fishing.
You can also walk in Lidman's footsteps at Rossån , which flows in the northernmost part of our area. In these seven-mile forests, you may come across bears or the controversial wolf. Other flowing waters that should be mentioned are the Andån , Hässjaån , Anneforsån , Häsboån and the Vinnfarsån which merges with the Rossån and forms the Långboån . These waters hold trout and grayling, but pike and perch also occur.
Among the lakes there are a number of put-and-take waters of various types, as well as some where support releases contribute to the original stock, mainly of trout and char. In some of the lakes there is a good chance of coarse pike and of course perch. A number of waters also hold pikeperch, whitefish and whitefish.
