The lakes are characteristic forest lakes in the Småland highlands where only a small part of Möckeln borders agricultural land. Otherwise, it is a pure forest landscape with sparse buildings and a feeling of untouched forest nature.
Main fish species are: Pike, Perch. in addition there are bream, bream and roach. Trout have been stocked annually in the lake system for the past 20 years.
The lakes within the fisheries management area are just under a mile southeast of Lenhovda and form the southwestern part of Alsterån's calling area. The association was formed in 1994 and is an association of all owners of fishing in the lakes within the villages of Östraby, Renshult, Merhult, Johanstorp, Möcklehult and Vägershult. For Lillasjön there has been a fisheries management association since 1932 and it ended in connection with the formation of an association for all four lakes. The lakes have been part of Alsterån's liming project since 1980, which meant that liming has been carried out at regular intervals.
