Lelång is one of the largest lakes in the area and is part of Dalsland's canal system.
The southern part of the lake extends up to the Värmland border. The part north of this border has a separate fishing license. Lelång has several inflows via, among others, the Greaströmmen and Blomälven. The beaches are characterized in many places by a barren and mountainous environment. These not only represent a delight for the eye, but are also exciting fishing spots.
Lelång is a clear lake and its deepest parts lie in the middle part south of Gustavsfors. The greatest depth is 61 meters. The shores of the lake are usually mountainous and have a barren and distinct wilderness character with mostly forest, mountains and beautiful nature.
The fisheries conservation area was established in 1989 and includes Södra Lelång, Käretjärnet, Kärnsbykärnet, Greaströmmen, Sillesjö, Ampetjärnet, Damtjärn and Flatetjärn.
